Religion Brotherhood Churchhill Home Address T.S. Eliot Quote - Going too far Pirates

Exactly three weeks until REGROUPEX 17, and there’s not a moment to lose!

The challenge coins have been designed and ordered, and are currently in production. We can only hope they actually arrive in time for delivery in Orlando!

Each registered shipmate will receive one as part of their registration, as will each REGROUPEX 17 Sponsor at Chiefs Club level or above.

We will also make them available to those that were not able to attend after the reunion as part of a fund-raising effort to obtain the boat’s Deck Log and Sailing Lists, and other related artifacts, so if you couldn’t make the reunion, you don’t have to miss out.

In the meantime, find a way to get there. Currently 25 shipmates and 12 spouses will spend the weekend catching up and enjoying beautiful Orlando. Those of us who attended REGROUPEX 09 in San Diego know what I mean when I say “Don’t miss out!”

You can be part of this by simply visiting the www.ssn-680.org website and paying for your registration. There is not a moment to lose!

See you there!

  • 75 years later, Search Finds Ship’s Stern Ripped Away by Mine in WWII’s Aleutians Campaign
Halfway through his midwatch, 19-year-old Seaman Daryl Weathers scanned the screens in the darkened radio shack as the USS Abner Read (DD-526) hunted Japanese submarines off the Aleutian island of Kiska on Aug. 18, 1943. At 1:50 a.m., an explosion rattled the Fletcher-class destroyer, bending the shafts and buckling interior spaces. Blast pressure even straightened aluminum bunk […]
